  2. I have received a lot of messages asking about the future of the forums once my car sells. Well today it sold and will soon be on its way to its new home. With that said, for the forums, there is more information under 'Announcements" titled "Future of the Forums' you could also copy and paste this link: http://www.trabantforums.com/threads/future-of-the-forums-donations.1762/

It’s been mentioned a few times that this car doesn’t make sense , and It could well have benefited from a factory rebuild in the 1980s . I’ve posted a pic of the ID plate so some of you gentalman can give me an idea on what I have . Is the interior correct ?

The dash is later than 68 also stuff like door handles should be alloy rather than plastic . Lots of later stuff from the photos

Makes sense that it’s been restored / refurbished / rebuilt at some stage and although it’s a trabbi , it’s really a lot of trabbi s in one . I’ll get the engine number to see if that helps .

it's very common for usa cars to be registered as older than they really are to get around import problems . Perhaps Australia is the same? . In britain it is also done to get free road tax (older than 40 )

Exactly , and as Trabants are so rare here it’s only relevant if I need parts . I took it on to save it from neglect and enjoy its status of quirky .
