    Now that you say that it makes sense. Euro style garage and I have seen EU plates before but never been outside Germany so I assumed they were vintage. Damn shame. I would love my own Trabbi

    Get together with some other folks and import some in a container, or go to Europe and import one yourself. Or wait and find one in your home country. They do come up from time to time. Either way, get about $US 10K together for purchase, transport, paperwork and parts/service. Get one in as nice a condition as possible, even if you have to pay more. Nothing worse than a car that won't run, or worse, fails you at the wrong time.

    There are threads on all these ways of getting a Trabant here at trabantforums, based upon our personal experiences.
