With that said, for the forums, there is more information under 'Announcements" titled "Future of the Forums' you could also copy and paste this link: http://www.trabantforums.com/threads/future-of-the-forums-donations.1762/

Thanks for the pics. Nice Syrena. Is that a catalytic converter I see on there? And what's the story on the Frankenstein 4-cyl Trabi? Who brought it? For that matter who brought the Syrena? Anybody got any more pics of the Barkas Pritsche?

The "Frankenstein" Trabi was brought by Anthony from Wisconsin. He modified the entire car to run a VW Diesel, from a Jetta I think. Also has air bag suspension he is still working on. Not sure the guys name that brought the Syrena. I think he was Polish but came all the way down from Canada. I think he actually drove the Syrena the whole way.

His first name was Slawek, and is a Polish immigrant. I talked with him for a while. Nice guy. He did drive it all the way from Toronto, Ontario to DC. Didn't see him after the event, so I didn't get to speak with him more.

The Barkas is mine. It's in my "garage" on the forum. I bought it from a Polish guy in Chicago who imported it a few years ago. He sold it I think because the transmission was giving him problems and h couldn't figure out how to fix it. Of course he didn't disclose that. But it is repaired now. Just took some patience and ingenuity. It's a 1980 by paperwork and the shiny perfect vin tag on the firewall. But it has the 4 stroke 4 cylinder IFA motor in it that was used in the final production years. I suspect someone played with that but I don't really know the make well enough to tell for sure.

Anyway it's a really fun truck in awesome shape. it's fun to drive, handles really well (actually extremely well given that it's a one ton truck) and it gets a LOT of interest. And the drop side bed comes in super handy.
